Grasim Industries rises on unveiling fourth plant of Birla Opus Paints in Mysore
Grasim Industries is currently trading at Rs. 2513.00, up by 9.40 points or 0.38% from its previous closing of Rs. 2503.60 on the BSE.
The scrip opened at Rs. 2499.95 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 2523.70 and Rs. 2480.70 respectively. So far 1948 shares were traded on the counter.
The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 2 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 2875.45 on 26-Jul-2024 and a 52 week low of Rs. 1,938.81 on 24-Nov-2023.
Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 2552.00 and Rs. 2478.15 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 171029.90 crore.
The promoters holding in the company stood at 43.11%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 31.53% and 23.30% respectively.
Grasim Industries has unveiled the fourth plant of Birla Opus Paints, a division of the company, at Chamarajanagar, Mysore. This fully automated, integrated paint plant commenced its commercial production on November 19, 2024, which raises the company’s manufacturing capacity to 866 MLPA (Million Litres Per Annum) and catapults Birla Opus Paints to become the 2nd largest decorative paints player by installed capacity.
The Chamarajanagar plant, with a capacity of 230 MLPA, will produce Water based paints, Enamel paints and Wood Finish Paints. The Water based paints will use inhouse manufactured advanced Emulsions as key raw material through unique polymer synthesis process helping company offer innovative paint features like multi stain resistance, outstanding dirt resistance, crack bridge-ability and high scrub resistance leaving no furniture marks when consumer paints with Birla Opus luxury products.
