Tata Motors gains as its arm acquires 26% stake in TECPL

Tata Motors is currently trading at Rs 437.00, up by 1.80 points or 0.41% from its previous closing of Rs 435.20 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs 429.45 and has touched a high and low of Rs 446.05 and Rs 427.90 respectively. So far 987519 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'B' stock of face value Rs. 2 has touched a 52-week high of Rs 447.90 on 02-Jan-2026 and a 52-week low of Rs 306.00 on 14-Nov-2025.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs 446.05 and Rs 422.50 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs 160917.88 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 42.56%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 34.09% and 23.35% respectively.

Tata Motors’ wholly owned subsidiary -- TML Smart City Mobility Solutions (TSCMSL) has acquired 26% stake equity shares (35,135 shares of Rs 10 each at par) in Traveltime E-Mobility Chennai (TECPL). With this, TECPL became an associate of the company. The cost of the acquisition is Rs 3,51,350. The estimated time period for completion of the acquisition is January 31, 2026.

The company through its wholly owned subsidiary is participating in the tenders issued by various Municipal Corporations for the operations and maintenance of electric buses. Since TECPL has won the tender for operation and maintenance of Electric busses under Municipal Corporation of Chennai participation in tender though travel time e- mobility is within the business objects of the company.
