Federal Bank Launches OneTag for Seamless FASTag Portability
Federal Bank has announced the launch of OneTag - FASTag Portability, a feature that enables customers to switch their FASTag issuer bank to Federal Bank while continuing to use their existing physical FASTag affixed to their vehicle. The feature was unveiled at the Global Fintech Fest 2026 by Shri Nitin Gadkari, marking an important development in India's digital mobility ecosystem.
With this launch, Federal Bank becomes one of the early issuer banks to enable FASTag Portability, reinforcing its commitment to customer-centric innovation and digital leadership. The facility allows eligible FASTag users to seamlessly migrate their FASTag relationship to Federal Bank without the inconvenience of removing, replacing, or re-installing the physical tag.
The portability journey has been designed to be simple and digital. Customers can initiate the process through the RajmargYatra application by entering their vehicle registration number, completing OTP authentication, and providing consent for portability. Thereafter, within 72 hours, the customer can complete the migration through the Federal Bank FASTag portal and begin managing the FASTag through Federal Bank.
Key Benefits of FASTag Portability
No replacement of the existing physical FASTag is required. The existing FASTag continues to remain on the vehicle, creating zero friction. Portability allows seamless migration to Federal Bank through fully digital, end-to-end customer journey.
Currently, FASTag Portability is available for Vehicle Class 4 (VC4) comprising cars, jeeps, and vans. To be eligible, the FASTag must be active, have the vehicle number updated, be free of active disputes, and should not have been ported previously.
This feature will expand its addressable customer base by enabling FASTag users currently associated with other issuer banks to seamlessly migrate their FASTag relationship to Federal Bank. The initiative is expected to further strengthen Federal Bank’s presence in the digital payments and mobility ecosystem.
Customers can visit Federal Bank Fastag customer Portal(https://fastag.federalbank.co.in/) to complete the portability process after initiating the request through the RajmargYatra App.
