Dr. Neeraj Goel is an academic and researcher with extensive expertise in computer systems design, semiconductor technology, and machine learning applications. He earned his undergraduate degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering from NIT Kurukshetra, followed by a post-graduation in VLSI Design Tools and Technology from IIT Delhi, and a Ph.D. in Computer Science and Engineering from IIT Delhi. Before joining IIT Ropar, Dr. Goel worked in the industry for seven years, bringing a strong balance of academic rigour and practical experience. His research interests include system design, ML applications in agriculture, and advancing computer science education.

He has mentioned, “Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning are redefining how we design and use technology, and semiconductors are at the very core of this transformation. Through this session, I look forward to discussing how AI and ML are shaping semiconductor design, from architecture exploration to edge deployment, and why this intersection is so critical for the future of innovation.”
