L&T surges as its business vertical wins large order for APM System at Dubai’s Al Maktoum Airport

Larsen & Toubro is currently trading at Rs. 4074.10, up by 44.00 points or 1.09% from its previous closing of Rs. 4030.10 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 4051.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 4083.00 and Rs. 4050.00 respectively. So far 16383 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 2 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 4440.00 on 24-Feb-2026 and a 52 week low of Rs. 3288.65 on 23-Mar-2026.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 4085.00 and Rs. 4,023.90 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 560280.19 crore.

The institutions and non-institutions held 62.39% and 37.60% stake in the company respectively.

Larsen & Toubro’s (L&T) The Transportation Infrastructure business vertical, in consortium with Japan’s Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI), has secured a large order to design and build the Automated People Mover (APM) System for Phase 1 of Al Maktoum International Airport in Dubai. L&T classified orders in the Rs 2,500 crore to Rs 5,000 crore range as large.

The scope of work for the MHI-L&T consortium encompasses the turnkey delivery of a fully integrated APM System, encompassing design, construction, supply, testing, commissioning and operational readiness of all associated infrastructure and systems.

Under the Design-and-Build contract, the company will undertake the design, procurement, delivery and integration of critical APM infrastructure and systems, including guideways, DC traction substations, power distribution, signalling and telecommunications, onboard communication systems for vehicles, platform screen doors and depot equipment.

The project, developed by Dubai Aviation City Corporation and being implemented through Dubai Aviation Engineering Projects, is a key component of the airport's long-term expansion programme designed as a multi-phase development. Once fully developed, Al Maktoum International Airport will become the world's largest airport, with a capacity of 260 million passengers and 12 million tonnes of freight annually.
