India's foreign exchange reserves have reached a significant milestone, positioning the country as the fourth-largest holder globally. As of December 2024, these reserves stood at $640.3 billion, covering approximately 90% of India's external debt of $711.8 billion as of September 2024. India's forex reserves are now surpassed only by China, Japan, and Switzerland, underscoring the nation's robust economic position.
