Indian equities are expected to open flat to slightly negative on December 2, with the GIFT Nifty indicating a start near 26,324—around 10 points lower. Broader sentiment remains cautiously optimistic despite mixed global cues and the absence of major domestic triggers. In the near term, traders will continue to track global market developments, crude oil price action, and institutional flow trends for clearer directional clarity.

The Nifty 50 touched a fresh all-time high of 26,325 in the previous session but witnessed profit-booking, pulling back below 26,200 by the close. The index now faces key resistance in the 26,300–26,400 zone, and a decisive breakout above this band could open the door for a move toward 26,500. Immediate supports are placed at 26,150 and 26,000. As long as Nifty sustains above the 26,000 mark, a buy-on-dips strategy remains constructive.

Bank Nifty also scaled a new record high of 60,144 before retracing to close at 59,681. Support zones are positioned at 59,500 and 59,300, while the broader bullish structure stays intact above 59,000. On the upside, resistance levels at 59,830 and 60,100 will be crucial for determining the next directional move.

Foreign Institutional Investors (FIIs) extended their selling streak for the third consecutive session on December 1, offloading equities worth Rs.1,171 crore. Meanwhile, Domestic Institutional Investors (DIIs) remained consistent buyers, adding Rs.2,558 crore during the same session.

Given the prevailing volatility and external uncertainties, traders are advised to remain selective with a buy-on-dips approach, manage leverage prudently, and deploy tight trailing stop-losses with staggered profit-booking. Fresh long positions may be considered only above 26,300, supported by close monitoring of global cues and key technical levels.
