Power Grid climbs on acquiring Khavda V-A Power Transmission

Power Grid Corporation Of India is currently trading at Rs. 326.65, up by 11.60 points or 3.68% from its previous closing of Rs. 315.05 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 317.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 326.75 and Rs. 314.10 respectively. So far 573010 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 366.20 on 25-Sep-2024 and a 52 week low of Rs. 207.95 on 21-Nov-2023.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 326.75 and Rs. 310.05 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 302548.64 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 51.34%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 45.15% and 3.51% respectively.

Power Grid Corporation of India, pursuant to its selection as the successful bidder under Tariff based competitive bidding, has acquired Khavda V-A Power Transmission (KVAPTL), the Project SPV to establish ‘Transmission System for evacuation of power from potential renewable energy zone in Khavda area of Gujarat under Phase-V (8 GW): Part A’, on build, own, operate and transfer (BOOT) basis from the Bid Process Coordinator - REC Power Development and Consultancy (RECPDCL). The requisite approvals were obtained by the Bid Process Coordinator for transfer of KVAPTL.

The project comprises establishment of 6000 MW, ±800 kV HVDC terminal stations at KPS2 (Gujarat) & Nagpur (Maharasthra), ±800 kV HVDC KPS2 - Nagpur Bipole line (around 1200 km) traversing in the states of Gujarat & Maharasthra, LILO of Wardha - Raipur 765 kV D/c line at Nagpur (Maharashtra), and associated equipment/interconnections at terminal stations.
