Nazim Nazir who got clicked with PM Narendra Modi, setting example in bee-keeping in Pulwama
Nazim Nazir, an entrepreneur from Pulwama with whom PM Narendra Modi shared a selfie with a caption ‘my friend Nazim’ has become source of inspiration for many Kashmiris. His trajectory from a curious enthusiast to a prominent figure in the honey beekeeping industry epitomizes the symbiotic relationship between human endeavour and the bounties of nature. Nazim embarked on his bee-keeping journey during his school days. Taking advantage of Government schemes, he grew his business manifold. With the help of Prime Minister Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP) in 2019 he availed 5 lakh loan and purchased 200 honey beekeeping boxes. Then, in 2023, he received Farmers Producing Organization (FPO) membership and with the help of NABARD his business operations reached new heights.
