India`s Agri Export Powerhouse Rise: APEDA Chairman Abhishek Dev highlights $53 Billion milestone
Chairman, Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority, Abhishek Dev says, "... We are now consistently ranking in the top 10 in the agricultural exporting countries in the world. Despite the fact that we are competing with all the major countries like the USA, Brazil, China, and the European Union, exports reached $53 billion last year, more than 500 lakh crore. A strong growth despite challenges, thanks to collaboration with ministries and state governments. Beyond rice and spices, India has diversified into pulses, cocoa products, pineapples, grapes and pomegranates, exporting to dozens of countries. The export basket has expanded from about 280 products a decade ago to nearly 500 today."
