Russian President Vladimir Putin praised PM Modi during a visit to Kaliningrad University on January 25. President Putin said that India is progressing under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership. He praised India, PM Modi for following an independent foreign policy keeping in mind its national interest. President Putin also lauded 'Make in India' initiative and said, Russia is further looking forward to make huge investments. Earlier on Jan 15, Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a telephonic conversation with President Putin. Both the leaders agreed to develop a roadmap to further strengthen bilateral strategic partnership. PM Modi also conveyed best wishes for Russia’s BRICS Presidency in 2024 and assured of India’s full support. Recently, EAM Dr S Jaishankar was on a visit to Russia from December 25-29 in 2023
