Indian origin MBBS students express their joy on PM Modi`s Ukraine visit
Many of Indian origin who studied medicine (MBBS) are now practicing as doctors in Kyiv. The news of Modi ji's arrival brings them joy. They also express pride in having the opportunity to become doctors in Ukraine, especially during such challenging times.
These doctors are playing a crucial role, to treat soldiers in the Ukrainian Army. They share that they’ve had the responsibility of treating Ukrainian soldiers who arrive at their hospital in critical condition from various parts of the country. They often come with severe injuries, including gunshot wounds, and the doctors see it as their utmost duty to treat, care for, and save these lives during emergencies.
When asked why they choose to remain in Ukraine despite the dangers, they explain that they have dedicated over six years of their lives to this country. Just as the local population continues to stay, they feel a deep connection to Ukraine. In recognition of their service, the Ukrainian government honours them in various cities, and they also receive respect from the Ukrainian people. These doctors shared that Ukrainians have expressed their gratitude, saying, "Despite being foreigners, you are serving our country; it is a matter of great pride."
