Diwali Picks 2026 : Blue Star Ltd for the Target Rs. 1,911 by Monarch Networth Capital
Blue Star Limited is India’s leading heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and commercial refrigeration (HVAC&R) engineering firm. The company operates across two primary business segments: Electro-Mechanical Projects (MEP), where it executes large-scale, turnkey solutions for airports, metro rail systems, commercial real estate, and healthcare facilities; and Consumer Discretionary Products, where it stands as a leading player in Room Air Conditioners (RAC) with rapid expansion across urban and rural market. To support its operations, Blue Star operates seven manufacturing facilities across India producing air conditioning systems, commercial refrigeration equipment, and MEP solutions.
* Consistent market share gain: RAC market share has increased from 13% to 14.3% in the last 4 years, despite a tough competitive environment. Blue Star aims for 15% RAC market share going ahead. Besides this, Blue Star also holds leadership positions with ~31% market share in deep freezers and water coolers and ~32% market share in modular cold rooms.
* Industry tailwinds: The RAC industry is witnessing strong structural growth, driven by rising temperatures, low penetration, improving affordability, and changing consumer lifestyles. Industry sales volumes have continued to grow at healthy double-digit rates, reaching approximately 13.5-14.0 million units in FY26, despite demand being impacted by unseasonal rains. The market is expected to grow at a volume CAGR of around 10–12% over the long term, supported by significant headroom for household adoption.
* Data Center Opportunity: Blue Star is well positioned to capitalise on India’s growing data centre opportunity through its specialised cooling solutions and electromechanical (MEP) project execution capabilities. Following a strong Rs 1,500 crore order inflow in Q1 FY27, the company projects full-year data-center MEP orders to reach approximately Rs 3,000 crore. Data centers are projected to be a major growth engine, with segment revenue targeted to reach Rs 4,000 crore by FY29.
* Outlook & Valuation: Driven by rising AC penetration and a robust multi-year order book, Blue Star offers an interesting play on Indian consumption and digital infrastructure buildout. While short-term quarter-to-quarter earnings can reflect weather seasonality and commodity cycles, the medium-to-long-term thesis remains intact. Intrinsic valuation based on free cash flows gives a DCF valuation of Rs 1,911 per share (~17% percent upside from current levels).
