Border tourism thrives as tourists` flock to Shaurya Gatha Complex in Tanghdar, Kupwara
The Shaurya Gatha Complex and Sadhna Cafe at Sadhna Top, nearly 10,500 feet above sea level along the LoC in Kupwara, are emerging as major tourist attractions, offering a unique blend of military history, Pahari culture and stunning Himalayan views. Inaugurated by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on May 14, 2026, the complex features a war museum, memorial and Pahari Culture Centre, showcasing the sacrifices of the armed forces and the region’s heritage. Locals say the project has boosted tourism and created livelihood opportunities in Karnah, while visitors have praised the breathtaking views and urged tourists to visit Kashmir, maintain cleanliness and help preserve its natural beauty.
