SJVN rises on beginning river diversion work of hydro-electric project in Himachal Pradesh

SJVN is currently trading at Rs. 26.35, up by 0.15 points or 0.57% from its previous closing of Rs. 26.20 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 26.60 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 26.65 and Rs. 26.20 respectively. So far 76322 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 33.80 on 19-Oct-2021 and a 52 week low of Rs. 25.35 on 23-Aug-2021.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 26.75 and Rs. 25.55 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 10355.01 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 86.77 % while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 6.65 % and 6.59 % respectively.

SJVN has begun the river diversion work of the 210 MW Luhri Stage-1 hydro-electric project in Himachal Pradesh. With this, Luhri-1 Project enters the advanced stage of construction. In November 2020, the government approved an investment of Rs 1,810.56 crore for the 210 MW power project located on river Satluj in Himachal Pradesh. This project will generate 758.20 million units of electricity annually.

The completion of the 617-meter-long diversion tunnel is an important achievement for the project. Diversion of river water through the tunnel will pave the way for the construction of a coffer dam taking the company closer to its commissioning target.

SJVN’s principal business activity is electricity generation. The company is also engaged in the business of providing consultancy.
