Bharti Airtel soars after its arm, IDEMIA, HMD partner to bring CBDC on feature phones in India

Bharti Airtel is currently trading at Rs. 887.00, up by 11.90 points or 1.36% from its previous closing of Rs. 875.10 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 880.05 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 888.40 and Rs. 878.60 respectively. So far 77503 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 5 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 901.55 on 27-Jul-2023 and a 52 week low of Rs. 736.20 on 02-Mar-2023.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 888.40 and Rs. 858.55 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 531043.37 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 54.97%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 41.14% and 3.88% respectively.

Bharti Airtel’s arm -- Airtel Payments Bank, identity technology company IDEMIA and Nokia brand phone maker HMD Global have joined hands to bring Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC) on feature phones in India. All three organizations would be working together to introduce an advanced offline payment system over the next few months that would facilitate the use of the digital rupee on feature phones and promoting financial inclusion.
