NTPC falls despite logging 65% growth in coal production during FY23
NTPC is currently trading at Rs. 177.45, down by 0.15 points or 0.08% from its previous closing of Rs. 177.60 on the BSE.
The scrip opened at Rs. 177.80 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 179.75 and Rs. 176.55 respectively. So far 489493 shares were traded on the counter.
The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 182.80 on 01-Nov-2022 and a 52 week low of Rs. 135.00 on 24-Jun-2022.
Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 179.75 and Rs. 174.80 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 172018.86 crore.
The promoters holding in the company stood at 51.10%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 46.29% and 2.62% respectively.
NTPC has recorded a coal production of 23.2 million tonnes in FY23, witnessing a 65 per cent growth against 14.02 million tonnes a year ago from its four operational coal mines -- TPC Pakri-Barwadih (Jharkhand), NTPC Chatti Bariatu (Jharkhand), NTPC Dulanga (Odisha) and NTPC Talaipalli (Chhattisgarh).
The company has also achieved the highest-ever annual overburden removal of 73.0 million cubic metres in FY23, representing 129 per cent growth compared to 31.9 million cubic metres of overburden removal in the previous fiscal.
NTPC is the largest power utility company in India and has presence in Coal, Gas, Solar PV, Hydro and Wind Power Generation and Coal Mining.
