Mega Free Option strategies includes Stock, Index & USD Options strategies for new investors, Advance Option strategies for professional traders

Mumbai: Motilal Oswal Financial Services Limited (MOFSL), awarded as India’s best broking house, has announced the launch of ‘Options Store’ aimed at providing a simplified Options Trading platform for customers finding Options trading as complicated and risky. The launch of this product is a part of the expansion of the digital products portfolio in FY23.

‘Options Store’ is integrated within the MO Trader and Investor mobile apps with specific features. This new feature will give simple and convenient ‘Option Trading’ for the traders who are beginning their trading journey in equities and currency segments. Such clients can select the best out of the readymade options such as Mega Free Option strategies that provide the F&O and Currency contracts. The other free Option Strategies are categorized in a wide array to suit the best needs of the user ranging from Starter, Max Loss<2K, Funds Required <10k, Multileg, Only Sell, etc. This feature will benefit the new traders while the experienced traders will get a platform to create their own strategy and trade with their views on the market. Another feature, the ‘Predict and Trade’ will help traders to time markets and trade the recommended Options.

For professional traders, there are readymade Option Strategies including multi leg with pre-filled target and stop loss orders that help the traders save time and execute these on real-time basis. The premium products of MO Investor & Traders Apps will soon be launched on Options Store.

There is a provision to activate multiple segments like FNO, Currency and Commodity, easily on a single page with minimal clicks. The users will be notified of their activation status through SMS on their registered mobile number and Email-ID.

Commenting on the launch of this feature, Mr. Ajay Menon, CEO – Broking & Distribution, Motilal Oswal Financial Services Ltd said, “With the growing interest in executing equity trades through options, we have specially designed Options Store in our integrated mobile app with specific features customized for new to derivative market investors and advance strategies for professional traders. While derivatives market as an investment avenue does provide opportunities to create meaningful wealth but there can be losses incurred owing to limited knowledge on Options as a concept. As a customer centric organization and a financial institution which is driven by the principle of Knowledge First, we urge new investors to gain an understanding on the functionality of the world of derivatives and intra-day options.”

The other upcoming features include –

  • Search Options and create your own Custom Strategy
  • Order and Trade Modifications
  • Exit All Strategies feature to square-off all strategies in a single click
  • Repeat Trades feature that helps you take trades again without any hassle
  • Simplified mechanism to start Inactive Strategies for your next trading day
  • Enhanced view of the Trade details page to give complete view of executed trade
  • Instrument wise validation of Max Lots for every order

Trading in ‘Options’ is very different from trading in ‘Equities’ and may not suit someone who is new to the market and wishes to start trading in ‘Options’. ‘Options’ have a better cost – efficiency than ‘Equites’ and are best used for Hedging. With a lower capital requirement, ‘Options’ provide higher potential returns and offers strategic alternatives compared to ‘Equities’. Option Traders face many challenges lack of understanding of derivatives and alternate strategies, concerns of safety and securities, lack of awareness of external events and expertise in ‘Option Trading’ with a fear of losing money.
