Maruti Suzuki total sales decline 9% YoY in Nov due to chip crisis

Carmaker Maruti Suzuki's total sales fell 9.16% to 139,184 units in November 2021 as against 153,223 units in November 2020. Total sales in the month include domestic sales of 113,017 units (down 18.67% YoY), sales to other OEM of 4,774 units (down 9.29% YoY) and its highest ever monthly exports of 21,393 units (up 137.59% YoY). "The shortage of electronic components had a minor impact on the production of vehicles during the month. The shortage primarily affected the production of vehicles sold in domestic market. The Company took all possible measures to minimise the impact," Maruti Suzuki India said in a statement on Wednesday.

 

Tata Power bags solar project worth Rs 945 cr from Solar Energy Corp

Tata Power Company on Wednesday said that its wholly owned subsidiary Tata Power Solar Systems has received Letter of Award (LoA) from Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI). The contract involves building 100 MW EPC solar project along with 120 MWh utility scale battery energy storage system (BESS). The total contract value of the project is approximately Rs 945 crore. The project will be executed within 18 months.

 

BSNL has given Sept 2022 timeline for pan-India 4G rollout: MoS Telecom

State-owned BSNL has given a timeline of September 2022 for rollout of its 4G services across India, and estimated an incremental revenue of about Rs 900 crore in the first year from such rollout, Parliament was informed on Wednesday. Minister of State for Communications Devusinh Chauhan, in a written reply to the Lok Sabha, made it clear that there is no proposal under consideration for disinvestment of Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd (BSNL) and Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Ltd (MTNL).

 

TVS Motor sales dip 15% in November on drop in two-wheeler volumes

TVS Motor Company, the flagship company of the $8.5 billion TVS Group, has posted a 15 per cent drop in sales to 272,693 units in November 2021 from 322,709 units in November 2020. Total two-wheelers registered sales of 257,863 units in November 2021 as against sales of 311,519 units in November 2020, posting a dip of 17 per cent compared to last fiscal. Domestic two-wheeler registered sales of 175,940 units in November 2021 compared to 247,789 units in November 2020.

 

Escorts reports 30% decline in November tractor sales at 7,116 units

Farm machinery and construction equipment major Escorts Ltd on Wednesday reported a 30 per cent decline in total tractor sales at 7,116 units in November 2021. The company had sold 10,165 units in the same month last year, Escorts said in a regulatory filing.

 

Nykaa looks to triple store count in retail expansion: CEO Falguni

Nayar Indian cosmetics-to-fashion retailer Nykaa plans to more than triple its brickand-mortar stores to 300, founder and Chief Executive Falguni Nayar said, significantly building its offline presence in the country. Nayar declined to give a timeline for the rollout but said the company was targeting 100 cities, adding to the 84 retail outlets it already operates in 40 cities.
