As the Manipur government declared the Easter Sunday as a working day, Union Minister of State Rajeev Chandrasekhar on March 28 said that he believes that this idea should be withdrawn.
“I understand that there was some news report that the govt of Manipur wanting to complete their year-ending work and declare Sunday as working day. I have strongly drawn their attention that it's an easter Sunday and hence can't be a working day. I believe that they should withdraw this idea...,” said Rajeev Chandrasekhar.
Notably, Easter Sunday, which is a Christian festival, falls on March 31 this year.
