SJVN gains as its arm commissions 75 MW Gurhah solar power plant in Uttar Pradesh

SJVN is currently trading at Rs. 93.05, up by 2.11 points or 2.32% from its previous closing of Rs. 90.94 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 92.81 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 94.15 and Rs. 91.75 respectively. So far 938440 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 100.40 on 15-Dec-2023 and a 52 week low of Rs. 30.39 on 27-Mar-2023.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 95.45 and Rs. 89.38 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 36602.11 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 81.85%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 6.64% and 11.51% respectively.

SJVN’s subsidiary -- SJVN Green Energy has commissioned and achieved COD of its 75 MW Gurhah Solar Power Project located in district Jalaun, Uttar Pradesh on December 29, 2023. With commissioning of this Gurhah Solar Power Project, the total Installed Capacity of SJVN is now 2227 MW. 

SJVN Green Energy had bagged this 75 MW Solar Power Project at a tariff of Rs 2.98 per unit through Competitive Tariff bidding conducted by Uttar Pradesh New & Renewable Development Agency (UPNEDA). Power Purchase Agreement for the same has been signed with Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation (UPPCL) for 25 years. Cost of Construction / Development of this project is Rs 408.42 crore. The project will generate 159.77 Million Units (MU) in the first year and the estimated cumulative energy generation over a period of 25 years shall be 3716 Million Units (MU). This will further result into revenues of around Rs 48 crore per annum.

SJVN’s principal business activity is electricity generation. The company is also engaged in the business of providing consultancy.
