Rupee weakens against US dollar on Wednesday
Indian rupee weakened against the US dollar on Wednesday, tracking sustained foreign fund outflows in the capital market. Foreign Institutional Investors were net sellers in the capital markets on Tuesday as they sold shares worth Rs 455.59 crore, exchange data showed. Moreover, weak domestic equities and firm American currency also dampened rupee sentiments.
The partially convertible currency is currently trading at 83.34, weaker by 6 paise from its previous close of 83.28 on Tuesday. The currency touched a high and low of 83.34 and 83.26 respectively.
