Indian equities witnessed a subdued session on Thursday, with the Nifty largely holding firm above the 25,000-mark, reflecting a lack of strong directional cues. Sector-wise, gains were seen in Oil & Gas, Telecom, and Metals, while Technology, Financials, and Cement stocks faced selling pressure. On the global front, caution prevailed as investors awaited clarity on potential trade talks between US President Donald Trump and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Market sentiment was further restrained ahead of key inflation data releases in both the US and India, which are expected to influence upcoming policy decisions by the Federal Reserve and the Reserve Bank of India. In the derivatives segment, market breadth remained slightly positive, with 112 advancing stocks versus 97 declines as of 2:35 PM. Notably, a significant build-up in open interest was observed in OFSS, Ambuja Cements, Nuvama, Angel One, and BSE, indicating active participation in these counters
