Speaker 1: Honorable Chief Guest

Speaker 1: Professor Govindan Rangarajan, Director of the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore. Vice President of Adani University, Dr. Arun Kumar Sharma.

Speaker 1: Provost Doctor Dhaval Pujara, Registrar Professor Amish Kumar Vyas.5Speaker 1: Distinguished members of the governing body, Board of Management and Academic Council.

Speaker 1: respected guests, faculty members and staff members, proud parents and my and their family members and my dear students.

Speaker 1: A very good evening to all of you.

Speaker 1: Today is a day of pride and gratitude.

Speaker 1: To our graduating students, my warmest congratulations to all of you.

Speaker 1: Every degree represents years of efforts, moments of uncertainty, and the determination to persevere.

Speaker 1: It also carries the love of your parents, the encouragement of your teachers, and the friendship of those who shared the journey.

Speaker 1: I hope you all will take a moment and thank each one of them.

Speaker 1: To our faculty members and staff.

Speaker 1: I offer my sincere gratitude and appreciation.

Speaker 1: Your dedication, hard work, and commitment have helped shape our students and their achievements.

Speaker 1: Today we are extremely privileged to have Professor Rangarajan as our chief guest.

Speaker 1: A distinguished mathematician

Speaker 1: his contributions to mathematics, research, and academic leadership.

Speaker 1: is a powerful reason for our graduating classes.

Speaker 0: Graduate

Speaker 1: And for all of us here, he is a great source of inspiration as we work towards making Adani University a leading research driven university.

Speaker 1: Thank you very much sir for gracing today's occasion

Speaker 1: For a young university like ours, every graduating class writes its founding story.

Speaker 1: Buildings can rise in a few years.

Speaker 1: Courses can be designed and laboratories can be equipped.

Speaker 1: But a university, a university earns its reputation over decades.

Speaker 1: It earns its reputation through the questions it asks, through the knowledge it creates, and the contribution of its graduates for the larger good.

Speaker 1: My dear friends, to the work in education and the Adani Foundation.

Speaker 1: I have seen very closely how the right opportunity can change a young person's belief in what they can become.

Speaker 1: Today, I want to take that thought further.

Speaker 1: What must we build so that young people have the opportunity not only to learn from the world's innovations but to achieve breakthroughs of their own?

Speaker 1: India has built infrastructure on a remarkable scale.

Speaker 1: Our scientists, our engineers, and doctors, they are contributing to institutions across the world. Yet, infrastructure and individual talent, they do not automatically foster a culture of research.

Speaker 1: True innovation, it requires a century.

Speaker 1: Where fresh questions can be pursued patiently, where disciplines meet, and ideas are tested against reality.

Speaker 1: However today, because of artificial intelligence, the nature of those questions itself is changing.

Speaker 1: We have become familiar with AI through the screens in our hands.

Speaker 1: But its larger significance is as a new instrument of inquiry.

Speaker 1: AI is already reshaping every field we work in.

Speaker 1: And here is what I want you all to remember.

Speaker 1: In the coming times, the skills that will set one apart are in familiarity with technology.

Speaker 1: It is the scientific judgment

Speaker 1: The scientific judgment is the ability to question, to verify, and to know when an answer simply doesn't hold up.

Speaker 1: And on the other hand, there is another frontier of technology that is emerging.

Speaker 1: Intelligence is beginning to move from the digital world into the physical world.

Speaker 1: We see it when a massive rain at a port instantly and safely responds to a sudden change in the wind.

Speaker 1: We see it when an inspection system autonomously identifies a hairline fault in an electricity network and long before a blackout happens.

Speaker 1: This is the world of physical AI where intelligence combined with computation, robotics, sensors, engineering, and understanding of how the world behaves.

Speaker 1: This is redefining every system.

Speaker 1: This is a space of boundless opportunities to innovation.

Speaker 1: Herein lies a unique possibility for Adani University.

Speaker 1: Over the decades, the Adani Group has built an integrated infrastructure platform across ports, airports, logistics, energy, utilities, and digital infrastructure.

Speaker 1: viewed from the lens of a research laboratory, these all are more than operating businesses.

Speaker 1: They are environments filled with difficult yet interconnected questions.

Speaker 1: The promise, the promise is not that industry will simply tell a university what to study.

Speaker 1: The promise is that exposure to demanding real-world conditions can bring up questions, such questions that neither the industry nor academia would have named alone.

Speaker 1: And here we see boundless opportunities. A research partnership between academia and industry where real world challenges foster curiosity and innovation. And on the other side, industries test ideas emerging from the academic labs.

Speaker 1: This is my friends, the ambition behind our upcoming multidisciplinary global campus for Adani University in Ahmedabad.

Speaker 1: We wanted to be a place. A place where students go beyond established, beyond learning established technology.

Speaker 1: The researchers can pursue questions whose answers are not yet known.

Speaker 1: And where exceptional minds find capable colleagues and the freedom to do original work.

Speaker 1: I am happy to say that we have already started working in that direction.

Speaker 1: As our provost mentioned, in the last academic year, Adani University supported 48 active PhD scholars and provided seed grants for faculty research. We also helped students present their work at national and international forums.

Speaker 1: Through policy initiatives under the student startup policy Gujarat 2.0, we engaged 3551 students.

Speaker 1: My friends for India, the states are larger than any one institution.

Speaker 1: We have every reason to take pride in the contributions Indians have made to the finest universities and laboratories around the world.

Speaker 1: Now, we must build one more places here where a student or a young scientist, either in Assam or in Ahmedabad, or even another continent, can undertake work of enduring significance.

Speaker 1: Talent can travel anywhere, but the institutions that turn talent into innovation must be built patiently, here and all. And as we build, we must ask a question. What is the ultimate purpose of this innovation?

Speaker 1: For me, this answer is very clear.

Speaker 1: The breakthroughs that matter most are those that reach the most marginalized corners of our country.

Speaker 1: It improves the life of these communities and alleviates their sufferings.

Speaker 1: This is the true impact of innovation.

Speaker 1: It is true seva. Seva which means service.

Speaker 1: Seva to mankind, Seva to the society, and Seva to the country.

Speaker 1: My dear graduates, you all are entering your professional life at a moment when India has enormous opportunities.

Speaker 1: The country needs people who can create knowledge, build enterprises, and solve problems that have remained unresolved since far too long.

Speaker 1: I want you to have the courage to attempt things whose outcomes are uncertain.

Speaker 1: Some of the most valuable work you may undertake may not bring immediate gratification or recognition.

Speaker 1: It may also demand years of patient effort, repeated failures, and the willingness to begin again. But there is something else I want you to remember today. You are among the earliest generations of Aghani University.

Speaker 1: That gives you a responsibility which is quite different from that of a graduate leaving an institution with a century of established history.

Speaker 1: at an old university graduate inherit legacy

Speaker 1: At a young university, graduates create legacy.

Speaker 1: The reputation of Adani University will be shaped by the examples you set for those who follow you. The originality of your ideas and the integrity of your work. Once again congratulations to each one of you. Thank you. Jai Hind.
