In September 2024, wholesale volumes saw channel filling ahead of the festive season, whereas retail volumes were impacted by Shradh period. The domestic passenger vehicle industry wholesale volume growth in September 2024 was largely flat yoy, amid higher channel inventory and subdued consumer sentiments. Further, passenger vehicle industry retail sales declined sharply yoy in September 2024.

The domestic two-wheeler wholesale volumes saw healthy yoy growth, led by channel filling ahead of the festive season. The commercial vehicle segment performance continued to remain weak and the volumes in September 2024 were below our expectation. Tractor segment volumes saw marginal growth on a yoy basis and we expect volume recovery to continue, supported by replenishment of reservoir levels and above normal monsoon.
