Perspective on Core Sector for November 2023 by Ms. Rajani Sinha, CareEdge
Below the perspective on core sector for November by Ms. Rajani Sinha, Chief Economist, CareEdge.
“Core sector output increased by 7.8% y-o-y in November, marking the lowest growth seen in the past six months. While the favorable base continued to offer some support to the core sector performance, base normalization in the upcoming months could result in some moderation in the growth figures. Among sectors, year-on-year increase in output was witnessed in six out of eight sectors whereas cement output weighed with a sharp contraction of 3.6% following 17.4% growth last month. The positive aspect was the sharp uptick seen in the output of petroleum and refinery products which is reflective of healthy economic activity.”
