Our Governments understood seriousness of skill development for youth: PM Narendra Modi on PMGKVK
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on October 19 launched 511 Pramod Mahajan Grameen Kaushalya Vikas Kendras in Maharashtra through video conferencing. These skill development centres, named after late BJP leader Pramod Mahajan, are being established across 34 rural districts of Maharashtra.
"For a long time, governments were neither serious about skill development nor had a foresight for the same. Our youth had to bear the loss of this. Despite a demand in the industry and talent among the youth, in the absence of skill development, it had become difficult for the youth to get jobs. Our Government understood the seriousness of skill development for the youth. We made a separate Ministry for Skill Development," said Prime Minister Narendra Modi
