Maharashtra Deputy CM Eknath Shinde hails Union Budget 2025

Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde commended the Union Budget 2025 on February 4, stating that it is designed with the interests of ordinary citizens in mind. He further noted that Mumbai is emerging as the leading city in the nation regarding development.“...This Budget is for the common citizens. This is a Rs 74,427 Crores budget...This Budget is 14.19 pc higher than the previous Budget. This is good, it is a good sign. So, Mumbai is developing rapidly. There are things for students, Mumbaikars, poor, women, entrepreneurs, medical help, aid for education and infrastructure - work has been done on all of these...This time, 58 pc of the expenditure has been on development - Rs 43,000 Crores has been spent on development. Income has risen by Rs 7,000 Crores. It means that our Mahayuti has ended the corruption in BMC prevalent for 2.5 years. When I became the CM, Devendra Fadnavis and I told the Commissioner that we have to make Mumbai potholes free. So, we are doing complete concretisation of Mumbai in 2 phases...So, Mumbai will be pothole-free in next 2 years,” said Eknath Shinde. “Prime Minister had said that we will make Mumbai, a FinTech hub. This is the beginning...So, Mumbai is becoming the number 1 city in the country in terms of development...This is a matter of joy for us,” he said.
