Jharkhand Government to launch Widow Remarriage Promotion Scheme
Secretary of Women & Children, and Social Welfare Department Manoj Kumar spoke to ANI in a special interaction on March 05 in Jharkhand about the State Widow Remarriage Promotion Scheme that will be launched by the Jharkhand Government on March 06. Informing about the scheme, Manoj Kumar said, “This scheme is only for widows. They are not living a good life and this scheme is being introduced for them so that they can be brought into the mainstream and live with dignity. Any widow up to one year of remarriage can apply for this scheme; as proof, she needs to provide the marriage registration certificate and 2 Lakhs rupees will be given into her account as per the scheme.” Finally, he stressed that widows currently experience a lack of dignity in their lives, prompting the introduction of this scheme to enhance their quality of life and empower them to become integral members of society.
