Odisha Minister Prithiviraj Harichandan on December 12 said that repair work of Jagannath temple’s Ratna Bhandar will begin from December 17. He also hoped that they will complete the entire activity by 31st January 2025.
“The repair work will begin from 17th December. Every day, around 5-6 hours of work will be done. I believe that the work will be over according to the stipulated time we have assessed. Counting of ornaments can be started after that...We are hopeful that we will complete the entire activity by 31st January 2025....,” said Prithviraj Harichandan.
“The work on Meghnad Prachir will be done as soon as possible. We are waiting for that particular area to dry up. Once it is dried up, then things can be applied and chemical and other things can be applied, and it can be restored. So, this is in the process. I think that will also be done very shortly...,” he added.
“The Temple Administration has advised to go ahead with the rate charts and all. But subsequently, we have asked them to use pure ghee so the price has also gone up a little. Now, we are thinking about how to rationalise the things and how to take care of the situation, so that at least the devotees will not face any problem as far as the hike of rate of Mahaprasad is concerned...I believe we will take a decision shortly. Then it will be convenient for devotees...,” he added.
