Security forces fortify Jammu and Kashmir ahead of Independence Day celebrations
Security forces have held their guards up in J&K’s Udhampur ahead of Independence Day celebrations. J&K Police, CRPF and Indian Army have implemented stringent security measures. Special focus is on the crucial Jammu-Srinagar National Highway where miscreants often seek to create disturbances. Round-the-clock security checks and vehicle frisking are being conducted at checkpoints like Phalata and Jakhani. Suspicious people and objects are being identified and interrogated under special security measures. Special units of J&K Police are deployed in Udhampur and its vicinity to maintain strict watch. India is celebrating its 78th Independence Day this year and the people of Jammu and Kashmir are in high spirits to celebrate the day.
