ISRO Chairman V Narayanan briefs on successful launch of BlueBird Block-2 communication satellite
ISRO Chairman V Narayanan said, "Today we have successfully launched the LVM-3 M6 rocket, which has injected precisely the BlueBird Block-2 communication satellite of the USA, a commercial satellite, in the intended orbit... This is the ninth successful launch of the LVM-3 vehicle. It demonstrated 100 % reliability. All the launches made so far have been successful... This was the heaviest satellite ever lifted from the Indian soil, weighing precisely 5908 kg... We launched the satellite with less than 1.5 kilometres of precision. This is one of the best accuracies achieved by any launcher in the world... The fourth accomplishment is that this is the 434th satellite of 34 countries lifted from Indian soil... Today, one of the improvements we have made for the S200 is that, for the first time, India has developed a heavy, high-power electromechanical actuator, which has also been inducted... We have improved the vehicle's payload capability by approximately 150 kg... This is the human-rated vehicle selected for the Gaganyaan program in India..."
