Union Minister Nitin Gadkari meets Tripura CM Manik Saha, reviews National Highway projects of state
Union Road Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari reviewed National Highway projects in Tripura with Chief Minister Manik Saha in New Delhi on July 1. Saha said Tripura's National Highway network has expanded from 198 km in 2014 to 923 km in 2026. Key decisions included early land acquisition for the Churaibari–Champaknagar NH-08 four-lane project, finalisation of DPRs for Agartala–Udaipur NH-08 and Udaipur–Amarpur road upgrades, development of the Kamalpur–Ambassa–Gandacherra–Santirbazar road, fresh tendering for Agartala’s Western Bypass, and redevelopment of deteriorated NH stretches. Saha also stressed improved drainage, retaining walls, and assured full State support for timely implementation of all approved projects.
