Hybrid Long-Short Funds contributed 70% of total SIF AUM in May 2026: ValueMetrics Report
  • Total SIF AUM up 12% MoM to Rs13,814 crore in May 2026 from Rs12,329 crore in April 2026
  • Total SIF inflows up 15% MoM to Rs1,396 crore in May 2026

According to the ValueMetrics report on Mutual Fund & SIF - Flow Meter (June 2026), Hybrid Long-Short Funds contributed 70% of the total SIF AUM in May 2026, amounting to Rs9,709 crore, with an average folio size of Rs33.9 lakhEquity-Oriented Strategies contributed 28% of the total SIF AUM, amounting to Rs3,843 crore, with an average folio size of Rs14.1 lakh. Total SIF AUM stood at Rs13,814 crore as of 31 May 2026, with an average folio size of Rs24.3 lakh.

Overall SIF - Month on Month
Month on Month Total SIF inflows were Rs1,396 crore in May 2026. This is about 15% higher than Rs1,219 crore in April 2026. Since October 2024, total inflows stood at Rs13,625 crore.

Hybrid Long-Short Funds - Month on Month Hybrid Long-Short Funds received Rs707 crore in May 2026. This is about 8% higher than Rs651 crore in April 2026. Since October 2024, Hybrid funds have received Rs9,526 crore, the highest among all strategies.

Equity-Oriented Strategies - Month on Month Equity-Oriented Strategies received Rs652 crore in May 2026. This is about 36% higher than Rs478 crore in April 2026. Since October 2024, total inflows into Equity-Oriented Strategies stand at Rs3,842 crore.

Overall, the mutual fund industry saw a steady performance in May 2026. Total AUM stood at Rs81.6 lakh crore, while net inflows (Active Pure Equity + Hybrid) stood at Rs33,468 crore.

Active equity mutual funds recorded gross inflows of Rs57,604 crore in May 2026. SIP contributions at ?30,954 crore remained strong, with SIP assets at Rs17.12 lakh crore. Hybrid funds (excluding arbitrage) attracted Rs4,862 crore in net inflows.

Gold ETFs saw net outflows of Rs725 crore in May 2026, reversing the strong inflow trend seen earlier in the year, while active equity net flows stood at Rs22,908 crore.

SIP contributions stood at Rs30,954 crore reflecting sustained retail investor participation despite market volatility, with SIP assets at Rs17.12 lakh crore
