Market Outlook: Indian markets are likely to open positive, with Gift Nifty up 0.39%, supported by firm global cues as the S&P 500 gained 0.51%, Dow Jones rose 0.93% and Nasdaq 100 advanced 0.42%. Nifty 50 closed at 23,140.50, up 0.34% in the previous session, while market breadth remained positive with NSE recording 1,924 advances against 1,592 declines and BSE witnessing 2,210 advances versus 2,146 declines. Options positioning indicates Nifty Call OI concentration at 24,000 and Put OI at 23,000, with PCR at 1.11.
FII & DII Activity: Institutional flows remained divergent, with FIIs/FPI recording net selling of ?3,693.9 crore, while DIIs remained net buyers at ?2,838.2 crore. The continued DII buying provided some support against foreign outflows, with domestic institutional participation remaining an important offset to FII selling.
Sector Activity: Sectoral performance was broadly positive, led by Nifty Consumer Durables (+0.95%), Auto (+0.89%), Financial Services (+0.56%), Manufacturing (+0.46%), Metal (+0.35%) and FMCG (+0.40%). Nifty IT (-0.17%), Healthcare (-0.47%), Pharma (-0.10%) and Oil & Gas (-0.07%) remained under pressure. Nifty Energy (+0.21%), Construction (+0.55%) and Services (+0.25%) also closed higher.
F&O Activity: Long build-up was visible in Zydus Lifesciences, Mazagon Dock, DLF, Sona BLW and Bosch, while short build-up was seen in PB Fintech, ICICI Prudential Life, Angel One, Laurus Labs and Paytm. Long unwinding was observed in Bharat Dynamics, ICICI Lombard General Insurance, SBI Cards, OFSS and Vishal Mega Mart, whereas short covering emerged in Blue Star, IREDA, Waaree Energies, Kaynes Technology and Bajaj Holdings.
