Daily Market Update - 22nd September 2026 - Ventura Securities Ltd

Market Outlook: Indian markets are likely to open positive, with Gift Nifty trading higher by 0.38% following strong overnight global cues. US markets ended higher, with the S&P 500 gaining 1.49%, Dow Jones rising 0.71% and Nasdaq 100 advancing 2.83%, supported by easing US bond yields and improved risk sentiment. Domestic markets extended gains, with Nifty 50 closing at 23,414, up 0.29%, while Sensex gained 0.76%. Market breadth remained mixed with NSE recording 1,735 advances against 1,858 declines and BSE witnessing 2,129 advances versus 2,334 declines. Options data indicates Nifty Call OI concentration at 23,500 and Put OI at 23,400, with PCR at 1.28, indicating immediate support near 23,400 and resistance around 23,500 levels.

 

FII & DII Activity: : Institutional flows remained mixed during the session, with FIIs/FPI turning net sellers with outflows of Rs 576.2 crore, while DIIs remained strong buyers with net inflows of Rs 2,797.3 crore. Domestic institutional participation continued to provide market support despite foreign investor selling pressure.

 

Sector Activity: Sectoral performance remained broadly positive, led by Pharma (+1.16%), Healthcare (+1.10%), Consumer Durables (+0.95%), FMCG (+0.95%), Oil & Gas (+0.53%) and Energy (+0.12%). Financial Services (+0.06%), Auto (+0.08%) and Manufacturing (+0.09%) remained stable, while Metals (-0.61%) and IT (-0.08%) witnessed selling pressure.

 

F&O Activity: Derivative positioning indicated long build-up in Patanjali, Aurobindo Pharma, GMR Airports, LIC Housing Finance and Delhivery, reflecting fresh buying interest. Short build-up was observed in OFSS, Sona Comstar, BSE, CDSL and KFin Technologies. Long unwinding was seen in Paytm, 360 ONE, Aditya Birla Capital, Cipla and Eicher Motors, while short covering emerged in TCS, Mankind Pharma, Solar Industries, ICICI Lombard and Max Financial Services.

Solar Industries: Solar Industries’ subsidiary Solar SA Investments agreed to acquire all outstanding shares of Omnia Holdings for Rs 12,951 crore in cash. Omnia reported FY26 revenue of Rs 13,307 crore, operates across 23 countries and serves customers in over 40 countries. The transaction remains subject to regulatory approvals and shareholder approval.
BEML: BEML secured an order exceeding Rs 5,400 crore from National High Speed Rail Corporation for high-speed rolling stock for the Mumbai–Ahmedabad High Speed Rail project. The contract also includes maintenance support for the rolling stock.
Yatharth Hospitals: Advent International agreed to invest Rs 3,150 crore of primary capital for an expected 24.9% stake in Yatharth Hospitals. The company currently operates nine hospitals with approximately 2,800 beds, against announced capacity of around 3,250 beds.
Uno Minda: Uno Minda approved four expansion projects aggregating Rs 1,415 crore across castings, alloy wheels, moulding and vehicle parts. The Rs 510 crore Hosur project will increase aluminium casting capacity from approximately 13,000 tonnes to 30,000 tonnes, while the Kharkhoda alloy wheel project targets initial production in Q4FY28.
Gujarat Themis Biosyn: Gujarat Themis Biosyn completed the acquisition of 100% stake in MicroBiopharm Japan for JPY 21.5 billion through its Japanese subsidiary. MicroBiopharm operates three GMP-compliant plants, reported FY26 revenue of JPY 9.5 billion and generates approximately 40% of revenue outside Japan.
