Commodities Daily Insights 23rd October 2026 by Axis Securities Ltd
* Gold prices fell by nearly 3% in the previous session, settling below the $4,050 level and hitting their lowest point since early August, as rising oil prices fueled inflation concerns ahead of next week’s Federal Reserve policy decision. Brent crude climbed to its highest level since May after renewed Houthi attacks in Saudi Arabia heightened fears of further regional escalation and potential supply disruptions
* Comex Silver fell by nearly 6%, settling below the key demand zone around $55, as renewed tensions in the Middle East pushed oil prices higher and fueled inflation concerns
* WTI Crude Oil prices surged as concerns over a possible resumption of hostilities with Iran heightened fears of supply disruptions. An unexpected drawdown in U.S. crude inventories provided additional support, while reports suggested that the U.S. and Israel could intensify attacks on Iran following the November midterm elections
* Copper futures fell toward $6.40 per pound, hitting a five-week low as a global sell-off in artificial intelligence stocks weakened market sentiment. Despite copper’s importance in data centres and power infrastructure supporting AI expansion, concerns over the technology sector weighed on prices. Additionally, rising inventories on the LME this week indicated easing supply tightness in the market, further weighing on prices
