Coal India sparkles on reporting 8% rise in coal production during May 2024

Coal India is currently trading at Rs. 513.65, up by 22.40 points or 4.56% from its previous closing of Rs. 491.25 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 511.30 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 527.20 and Rs. 505.55 respectively. So far 1785512 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 527.20 on 03-June-2024 and a 52 week low of Rs. 223.30 on 26-Jun-2023.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 527.20 and Rs. 479.25 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 317534.58 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 63.13%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 31.71% and 5.16% respectively.

Coal India has reported 7.51% rise in coal production to 64.4 million tonnes (MT) during May 2024 as compared to 59.9 MT in May 2023.  It produced 126.2 MT of coal during April-May period, up 7.4% from 117.5 million tons during the same period previous year.

In May 2024, Coal offtake increased to 68.2 MT from 63.7 MT. The total offtake of coal during the April-May period increased to 132.3 MT, up 5% from 125.9 MT in the corresponding period last fiscal.
