Cabinet Secretary T.V. Somanathan highlights decade of surge in capital expenditure
Cabinet Secretary Dr. T.V. Somanathan said, "The capital expenditure has shown dramatic growth in the last decade from Rs 4.26 lakh crores in 2014-15 to Rs 15.53 lakh crores in 2025-26...If we look at a subset of projects that were personally reviewed by the Prime Minister at the apex of the system, 382 of the most complex or difficult projects have been reviewed by the Prime Minister in the 50 meetings. These involved 637 contractual packages or sections. 3,187 issues were raised by the agencies, of which 2,958 have been resolved up to now...In a sense, one issue has been resolved for every working day..."
