Bharat Bijlee moves up on getting nod for additional capex of Rs 65 crore for Airoli Factory

Bharat Bijlee is currently trading at Rs. 2903.85, up by 5.35 points or 0.18% from its previous closing of Rs. 2898.50 on the BSE.
The scrip opened at Rs. 2900.05 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 2916.95 and Rs. 2849.00 respectively. So far 867 shares were traded on the counter.
The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 5 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 5458.15 on 30-Aug-2024 and a 52 week low of Rs. 2372.60 on 07-Apr-2025.
Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 2965.85 and Rs. 2757.10 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 3269.60 crore.
The promoters holding in the company stood at 33.65%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 21.59% and 44.75% respectively.
Bharat Bijlee has received approval for additional capex of Rs 65 crore for transformer capacity addition from 28000 MVA to 35000 MVA, at the existing Airoli Works, Navi Mumbai. The Board of Directors of the company in their meeting held on August 25, 2025 has approved the same.
Earlier, at the Board Meeting held on May 17, 2024, the proposal for capex of Rs 170 crore, to enhance the production capacity of Transformers, at Company’s existing Airoli Works, Navi Mumbai, from 18000 MVA to 28000 MVA, was approved.
Bharat Bijlee has two primary business segments: Power Systems that comprise Transformers and Projects divisions, and Industrial Systems segment comprising Electric Motors, Drives & Industrial Automation and Elevator Systems divisions. The company caters to a spectrum of industries and the builders of the nation’s infrastructure: power, refineries, steel, cement, railways, machinery, construction and textiles.
