Star Cement rises despite reporting 33% fall in Q2 consolidated net profit

Star Cement is currently trading at Rs. 108.55, up by 0.45 points or 0.42% from its previous closing of Rs. 108.10 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 108.10 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 108.90 and Rs. 106.50 respectively. So far 5219 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 1 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 113.60 on 11-Oct-2022 and a 52 week low of Rs. 81.50 on 17-Jun-2022.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 108.90 and Rs. 102.05 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 4387.38 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 67.43%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 6.55% and 26.03% respectively.

The company has reported rise of 2.66% in its net profit at Rs 23.55 crore for Q2FY23 as compared to Rs 22.94 crore for the corresponding quarter previous year. Total income of the company increased by 45.50% to Rs 603.74 crore for the quarter under review as compared to Rs 414.95 crore for the same quarter in the previous year.

On the consolidated basis, the company has reported fall of 33.25% in its net profit at Rs 31.06 crore for the quarter under review as compared to Rs 46.53 crore for the same quarter in the previous year. However, total income of the company increased by 46.36% to Rs 607.76 crore for the quarter under review as compared to Rs 415.26 crore for the same quarter in the previous year.
