* The BSE Sensex ended at 55,555.79 up by 226.47 points or 0.41% after trading in a range of 55,781.17 and 55,240.29. There were 15 stocks advancing and 15 stocks declining on the index.
* The broader indices ended in red; the BSE Mid cap index down by 0.90%, and Small cap index was down by 1.55%.
* The top gaining sectoral indices on the BSE were, Energy was up by 0.62%, Oil & Gas was up by 0.55%, and Telecom was up by 0.89%, while, Utilities was down by 0.45%, FMCG was down by 0.28%, Realty was down by 0.85%, and Capital Goods was down by 0.54%, were top lossing indices were on BSE.
* There were HCL Tech was up by 4.10%, TCS was up by 2.20%, Bajaj Finserv was up by 2.06%, Nestle India was up by 1.78%, and Bharti Airtel was up by 1.57%, the top gainers were on the Sensex.
* There were Mahindra & Mahindra was down by 2.50%, Bajaj Auto was down by 2.23%, UltraTech Cement was down by 1.94%, Power Grid was down by 1.79%, and ITC was down by 1.29%, the top losers were on the Sensex.
* The CNX Nifty ended at 16,496.45 up by 45.95 points or 0.28% after trading in a range of 16,592.50 and 16,395.70. There were 22 stocks advancing and 27 stocks declining and 1 stock unchanged.
