* The BSE Sensex ended at 55,437.29 up by 593.31 points or 1.08% after trading in a range of 55,487.79 and 54,905.49. There were 20 stocks advancing and 10 stocks declining on the index.
* The broader indices ended in red; the BSE Mid cap index down by 0.06%, and Small cap index was down by 0.01%.
* The top gaining sectoral indices on the BSE were, Energy was up by 1.31%, Oil & Gas was up by 0.48%, Realty was down by 0.79%, Telecom was up by 1.80%, FMCG was up by 0.69%, and Capital Goods was up by 1.58%, while, Utilities was down by 0.45%, were top lossing indices were on BSE.
* There were TCS was up by 3.22%, L&T was up by 2.78%, Bharti Airtel was up by 2.21%, HCL Tech was up by 2.06%, and TATA Steel was up by 1.83%, the top gainers were on the Sensex.
* There were Power Grid was down by 1.28%, DR. Reddy was down by 1.21%, Indusind Bank was down by 1.09%, Bajaj Finance was down by 0.78%, and NTPC was down by 0.63%, the top losers were on the Sensex.
* The CNX Nifty ended at 16,529.10 up by 164.70 points or 1.01% after trading in a range of 16,543.60 and 16,376.30. There were 30 stocks advancing and 20 stocks declining.
