NIFTY

* Nifty remained volatile and ended almost unchanged amid mixed cues.

* On the sectoral front, auto, realty and pharma were the top contributors while IT traded under pressure.

* Stay focused on identifying buying opportunities from the performing sectors and selectively from midcap and smallcap pack too.

* A decisive break above 18,700 would fuel the next leg of up move towards the record high.

BANK NIFTY

* Banking index also oscillated in a narrow range and ended with marginal gains.

* Mostly stocks traded subdued but buoyancy in the Kotak Bank and Axis Bank helped the index to close in the green.

* 43400-43700 critical support zone. Maintain positive bias till it manages to hold.

* Continue to utilize the prevailing phase to accumulate major private banks.
