The Lady Shri Ram College Alumni Association organized the ELSA Bazaar in collaboration with Bikaner House’s Sunday Market, on November 26 and 27th, 2022, in Bikaner House.

Ms. Laila Tyabji, Chairperson Dastkar, who inaugurated the bazaar, said, “We know women are creative, they multi-task, and are good at finding solutions – and at this time more than ever, the world needs this power.”

Ms. Angeli Misra, co-founder of Lifeline Labs that supported this event, said, “Gender equality in healthcare is abysmal – the healthcare of women even within families is the last priority – and we collectively need to focus on closing this gender gap – or rather making sure healthcare needs of women – which are different from that of man – are equally designed for and provided.”

The ELSA Bazaar is a platform that provides a market for its alumni women entrepreneurs who have overcome gender barriers to set up successful businesses of their own. These entrepreneurs offered products that are organic, support traditional craft, and use sustainable production methods. The cultural performances leveraged the platform to support young artists as well as initiatives such as a Drumjam. The Bazaar was very well attended on both days and saw a steady stream of visitors.

Ashima Aggarwal, EC Member says “One of the prime objects of our Association is to support and promote the entrepreneurial endeavors of our alumni. We are delighted to have been able to collaborate with Bikaner House and use their very successful Bazaar platform to support our alum for the upcoming holiday season.”
