Rupee trades flat against US dollar on Tuesday
Indian rupee was trading flat against the US dollar on Tuesday, tracking firm American currency against its major peers overseas and after US President-elect Donald Trump pledged tariffs on all imports from Canada and Mexico, and additional tariffs on China. Meanwhile, rupee positively influenced by the MSCI equity index rebalancing and increased foreign investor activity. Exchange data showed that Foreign Institutional Investors purchased shares worth Rs 9,947.55 crore in the Indian capital markets on Monday.
The partially convertible currency is currently trading flat at its previous close of 84.29 on Monday. The currency touched a high and low of 84.30 and 84.2250 respectively.
