Maruti Suzuki reports 50% increase in July sales at 1,62,462 units

The country's largest carmaker Maruti Suzuki India (MSI) on Sunday reported a 50 per cent increase in sales at 1,62,462 units in July. The company had sold 1,08,064 units in July last year, Maruti Suzuki India (MSI) said in a statement. Domestic sales increased by 39 per cent at 1,41,238 units last month as against 1,01,307 units in July 2020, it added. Sales of mini cars comprising Alto and WagonR stood at 19,685 units as compared to 17,258 units in the same month last year.

 

Tata Motors domestic sales increases 92% to 51,981 units in July

Tata Motors on Sunday said its total domestic sales increased by 92 per cent to 51,981 units in July as compared to the same month last year. The company had sold 27,024 units in July 2020. The auto major said its passenger vehicle sales in the domestic market stood at 30,185 units in July, as compared to 15,012 units in the same month last year. Commercial vehicle sales in the domestic market stood at 21,796 units, up 81 per cent from 12,012 units in July 2020, it added.

 

All 26 Airtel telecom circles show identical subscriber fall of 1.3% in May

It may be just coincidence or something more, but all the 26 telecom circles of Bharti Airtel showed identical fall in subscribers at 1.3 per cent in May over April this year. As per the latest data, even the overall fall nationally for Airtel stood at 1.3 per cent. For every circle to have exactly the same extent of fall in subscribers is a lot of coincidence. At an all-India level, Airtel subscribers were down in May by 46.13 lakh, or 1.3 per cent. The exact same figure has been repeated in all the 26 circles of Airtel.

 

NTPC's Q1 profit rises 17% to Rs 3,443 cr on higher revenues

State-owned power giant NTPC on Saturday posted a nearly 17 per cent rise in consolidated net profit to Rs 3,443.72 crore for the April-June quarter on the back of higher revenues. The consolidated net profit of the company in the quarter ended on June 30, 2020, was Rs 2,948.94 crore, a BSE filing said. Total income in the quarter under review rose to Rs 30,390.60 crore from Rs 26,794.68 crore in the same period of the last year. NTPC's gross power generation in the June quarter was 71.74 billion units compared to 60.18 billion units (BU) in the same period a year ago.

 

Sunteck Realty Q1 profit at Rs 3 cr; revenue up 52% at Rs 96 crore

Sunteck Realty Ltd has reported a consolidated net profit of Rs 3.02 crore for the quarter ended June 2021. The Mumbai-based developer had posted a net loss of Rs 3.08 crore in the year-ago period. Total income rose to Rs 96.11 crore in the first quarter of this fiscal year from Rs 63.20 crore in the corresponding period of the previous year, according to a regulatory filing. Its sales bookings grew by 74 per cent to Rs 176 crore in the AprilJune quarter from Rs 101 crore in the year-ago period.

 

Britannia consolidated net profit drops 29% to Rs 387 crore in Q1

Home-grown food company Britannia Industries on Friday reported a 29 per cent decline in consolidated net profit at Rs 387 crore for the quarter ended June 30. The company had posted a consolidated net profit of Rs 543 crore for the April-June period of previous fiscal. Total income during the first quarter stood at Rs 3,464 crore, compared to Rs 3,514 crore in the same period of last fiscal. Britannia MD Varun Berry said, "Second wave of Covid-19 struck the country hard followed by lockdowns imposed by various state governments. We witnessed the evolving nature of the pandemic as well as consumer sentiment and behaviour."
