EaseMyTrip surges as its arm signs exclusive general sales agreement with SpiceJet Airline
EaseMyTrip is currently trading at Rs. 426.55, up by 11.55 points or 2.78% from its previous closing of Rs. 415.00 on the BSE.
The scrip opened at Rs. 422.50 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 434.65 and Rs. 416.70 respectively. So far 223357 shares were traded on the counter.
The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 2 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 476.50 on 24-May-2022 and a 52 week low of Rs. 204.35 on 23-Aug-2021.
Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 437.50 and Rs. 370.90 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 9223.96 crore.
The promoters holding in the company stood at 74.90%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 5.75% and 19.35% respectively.
EaseMyTrip Thai, a wholly-owned subsidiary of EaseMyTrip, has signed an exclusive General Sales Agreement with SpiceJet Airline to sell, promote and market passenger tickets and other services to passengers in Thailand effective September 1, 2022. To have a strong foothold in the market, EaseMyTrip Thai will be extending operations of SpiceJet by opening an independent branded office and representing the airlines in Bangkok, Phuket and other locations in an attempt to cater to the larger travel markets.
This is the first time that EaseMyTrip Thai, is entering in such an arrangement for two years exclusively with SpiceJet as a strategic intervention which is an attempt for both the companies to expand in its services in Thai Market. Under this arrangement, EaseMyTrip will be exclusively responsible for SpiceJet’s ticket operations in the territory that will help Thai customers to avail the services of SpiceJet. Additionally, all the travel agents have to route their business through EaseMyTrip for buying tickets of SpiceJet from Thailand.
