Coal India trades higher on the BSE

Coal India is currently trading at Rs. 154.10, up by 0.40 points or 0.26% from its previous closing of Rs. 153.70 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 154.25 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 155.20 and Rs. 153.10 respectively. So far 465788 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 203.85 on 06-Oct-2021 and a 52 week low of Rs. 123.45 on 19-Apr-2021.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 156.55 and Rs. 145.15 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 95060.08 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 66.13%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 28.82% and 5.04% respectively.

Coal India (CIL) has incurred a capex of Rs 10,717 crore in the April-December period of the ongoing fiscal, registering a 37.4 per cent year-on-year growth. The capex of the company during April-December period of the last fiscal was at Rs 7,801 crore. The company’s capex spend during the referred period marks 86.3 percent of the progressive target achievement. The capex scale up comes at a time when the Centre has been exhorting the public sector entities to step up their annual capex.

Coal India is the world’s largest coal mining company. It also produces non-coking coal and coking coal of various grades for diverse applications.
