Bengal & Assam Company Q4 net profit down 70.88% at Rs 16.39 cr
The company reported standalone net profit of Rs 16.39 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2021 as compared to Rs 56.28 crore in the same period last year, registering a year-on-year decline of 70.88 per cent. Net revenue of the company declined substantially by 59.03 per cent at Rs 26.10 crore in January-March quarter of this fiscal as against Rs 63.71 crore in the corresponding period last year.
During January-March quarter, operating expenses increased by 12.65 per cent to Rs 2.76 crore from Rs 2.45 crore in year ago period. Other Income grew by 30.56 per cent at Rs 1.88 crore versus (Mar'20 Rs 1.44 crore).
Operating Profit slipped by 61.89 per cent to Rs 23.34 crore as against Rs 61.25 crore in the year ago period, while Operating Profit Margin (OPM) contracted year-on-year to 6.99 per cent in March quarter. Interest declined by 6.57 per cent y-o-y to Rs 8.11 crore, while Taxation increased by 118.63 per cent at Rs 0.49 crore (Mar'20 Rs -2.63 crore).
